Day 1 of the 150th Rosebud Fair 🌹
Women’s Relay 🐎🐎

This one meant a lot to us.

Her dad, Dave, said, “If you really want to do Women’s Relay, it is not easy. I will be here for you, but I can’t do the work for you.”

Our rider, Kashlynn, saved up last year and bought her horse at the last race of the season. She did all of the exercising and training, taking this very young horse and teaching her the ropes of relay. She trusted her enough to make her the anchor — the last horse.

She named her Star, because without her, we would have had to drop out of the Championship of Champions in 2025 after Kashlynn had already raced one day of the three-day race.

Kashlynn put in the work. Not just when people were watching, but on the ground, in the arena, on the track, and in all the quiet moments in between. She worked on building Star’s confidence, and she worked on building her own confidence riding her — on and off the track.

At 13 years old, it’s not about chasing wins for Kashlynn.

It’s about learning what it means to commit to something and see it through.

It’s about earning the trust of an animal that is still learning herself.

It’s about getting back on after a hard day, trying again when something doesn’t go right, and realizing that confidence isn’t something you’re simply given — it’s something you build.

And maybe most importantly, it’s about understanding the lesson her dad gave her from the beginning:

“I’ll be here for you, but I can’t do the work for you.”

She listened.
She is doing the work.

And now, we are watching this young girl ride a horse she trained, trusted, and believed in — there is something much bigger than a race happening.

There is a young woman starting to learn who she is.

There is a horse learning to trust her.

And there is a father standing on the sidelines, watching his daughter become the kind of horsewoman he knew she could be.

Win or lose, we are proud of you, Kashlynn.

Because the real victory is becoming the person who is willing to do the work when no one is watching. 💙💝

Thank you to Kalee Moore for catching for us! You are a rockstar.

Our MAVRIK Equine came in!! 🔥

Been excited for this. Some of our horses have weird skin rashes.. tried all kinds of stuff, honey, essential oils, vetricin, antibiotic topicals, even tried a dog/cat one! (this did work for one of our horses) but we still have a few that I hope this works for their scars, scuffs, & rashes. 🙏🏾

Our kids start school on Monday! Here’s a little photo dump from July to August.

HUGE thank you to everyone who has helped us so far this season. All of the parents who allow your children to participate with our teams. Our sponsors, our friends and family who filled up coolers for us, brought us something to eat. Helped us pay entry fees, or even asked if we just needed anything! Wanna send a special Shout out to Eleanor WhiteBody, Victoy, Cory & Titus for filling up the big cooler with enough for a four day event. 😁

Also wanna send a special thanks to those of you on our social medias! we have people from all over the world who watch, comment, like & share parts of our journey. Near and far; All of the different counties, reservations, huge cities to small towns. Thank you for your support! This summer so far we have made enough on our Facebook to buy 5 bags of feed. That may not seem like a lot, but it means the world to our kids & horses that social media is helping them while we are out on the road! 🙏🏾💙

Enjoy the photo’s. 🙂

Kashlynn finally remembered to turn on the meta’s!! 🙂 we got one race from her this weekend.

We were hoping she recorded championship but she didn’t get it. On day 2, we had a few mishaps and ended up with our first DQ, she still crossed the finish line but more importantly everyone walked off the track safe and the horses are all good.
We met some new people, made some new friends and we had a lot of fun this weekend!

We are home and now Kashlynn is getting ready to start 8th grade at New Town Middle School. 📚
