Today we gathered at our ReStore to celebrate Black History Month alongside leaders and neighbors from right here in our community.

Thank you to Chris Hill, Fred Cleveland, and our keynote speaker Pastor Pete Carter for sharing such meaningful reflections. We’re grateful for the time, heart, and leadership each of you brought to the day.

At Southeast Volusia Habitat for Humanity, we believe community is built through connection — and today was a beautiful reminder of that.

What a meaningful day at our ReStore ❤️
Today we gathered to celebrate Black History Month with thoughtful reflections and powerful words from leaders right here in our own community.
A special thank you to Chris Hill, Habitat board member and owner of Hill's Chicken and Waffles, for not only sharing meaningful remarks but also generously providing food for everyone in attendance. Your continued support of both Habitat and our community does not go unnoticed.
We are also grateful to Fred Cleveland, Mayor of New Smyrna Beach, for joining us and sharing your perspective, and to our keynote speaker, Pastor Pete Carter, a local pastor who grew up here and spoke so passionately about the importance of remembering our history while shaping the future.
At Southeast Volusia Habitat for Humanity, we believe community is built not just through homes, but through conversations, relationships, and shared understanding. Today was a beautiful reminder of that.
