The NS Ag Commission is having a workshop on "Ticks and Tic-Borne Diseases"
with presenter Dr. Rich from UMASS TICK REPORT, this Tuesday October 16th, 6pm!

Save the Date for the New Salem Harvest Supper!
This fall the New Salem Agriculture Commission will host a potluck Harvest Supper on Sunday October 1st, starting at 4:30pm, and everyone is invited! This is an opportunity to get to know the members of your community, learn about local food, and share the delicious bounty from local farms. Please bring a dish to share that uses some local ingredients. Location will be behind the Town Hall, near the Community Garden. For questions, to RSVP or to get involved (we would love to have volunteers!), please email Molly at [email protected]. Hope to see you there!

Please bring your bouquet donations of home-grown flowers, herbs, and local flora to the Ag Commission booth on the Town Common by 10 a.m. on Old Home Day. Kids’ bouquets welcome! Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5; raffle winners will be drawn at 2 p.m. at the booth. The Commission will also be raffling a tantalizing Harvest Basket full of local goodies, as well as a beautiful begonia hanging basket graciously donated by Laurenitis Farm in Sunderland. Also, the community garden will be selling perennials to benefit our garden development projects, and offering a garden tour at 10 a.m. See you there!

Hi gardeners

As Old Home Day is just 12 days away, I am asking that you w**d and neaten up your plots! We will be giving tours at 10-11 as usual. This year we will have a sign in the parade, and of course our plant sale, and raffles.

Please let me know how you can lend a hand. Selling on the green, marching with the Ag Commission "float", w**dwacking, path cleaning, w**ding.....any way you can assist is hugely appreciated!

Happy Independence Day to you, your families and our community!

Please contact me with the way you can volunteer!

We will have our bouquet tin can auction, plant sale, organic items made locally, garden tour, and raffles. Thank you Laurenitis Farm for donating this years stunning begonia hanging basket to raffle!

Oh, and if anyone has a truck so we can return the rototiller, please let me know asap.
