Connecting Across the Miles: Strengthening Our Links 💚🤍🔗

Friendship knows no distance! The Greater Hudson Valley (NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated enjoyed a wonderful summer gathering that connected our Link Sisters across the miles—from New Rochelle, New York, to Martha’s Vineyard!

In New Rochelle, our Link Sisters joined by guests and friends gathered for Happy Hour at Kenny’s on the Water, where we enjoyed light bites, libations, laughter, and fellowship, raising a glass to summer and celebrating the bonds of friendship that keep us connected.

Meanwhile, our Link Sisters on Martha’s Vineyard were enjoying a wonderful summer home gathering and Game Night hosted by one of our sisters. A special highlight of the evening was a FaceTime connection between our two gatherings, bringing together our chapter members, guests, and friends in New York and on the Vineyard.

Though separated by miles, for a few special moments we were all together—sharing smiles, laughter, and the spirit of sisterhood.

Whether gathering at Kenny’s on the Water in New Rochelle or enjoying a summer evening on Martha’s Vineyard, our Links remain strong. Moments like these remind us that taking time to connect, celebrate, and enjoy one another strengthens the bonds of friendship that are at the heart of our sisterhood. 💚🤍🔗

We are proud to honor three outstanding members of the Greater Hudson Valley - NY Chapter of The Links, Incorporated for their unwavering commitment to improving the lives of children and families throughout our community.

The Links is an international not-for-profit organization of accomplished women dedicated to friendship and service. Since 1990, the Greater Hudson Valley Chapter has expanded its reach beyond the Hudson Valley to Dutchess, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester counties, creating meaningful change through innovative programs and community partnerships.

Their work supports youth development, education, the arts, health and wellness, and civic engagement. At the Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon NY, we have been fortunate to partner with The Links for more than a decade on impactful initiatives including our Healthy Snacks & Dinner Program, Gardening Program, College Prep and HBCU Tours, scholarship opportunities, holiday celebrations, and other enriching experiences that have positively shaped the lives of the children we serve.

This year, we will recognize Felita Y. Granby, President, along with Janice A. Dye Owens and Brigette R. McLeod-Williams for their extraordinary leadership, generosity, and years of dedicated service to our youth.

Join us on Monday, September 14, at the Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon’s Golf & Leisure Experience as we celebrate these remarkable women while raising critical funds to support the children and teens we serve.

🎷☀️ GHV Links Kicks Off Summer with Music, Friendship & Fun! ☀️🎷
The Greater Hudson Valley(NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated officially kicked off our 2026 Summer Friendship Activities by attending the opening night of the Summer Breeze Concert Series, hosted by the City of Mount Vernon at City Hall Plaza.

It was a beautiful evening filled with friendship, laughter, and outstanding music as we enjoyed the cool jazz and soulful sounds of the incredibly talented Sherry Winston. Members gathered to relax, reconnect, and celebrate the spirit of summer while supporting one of Mount Vernon’s signature community events.

We were especially honored when Sherry Winston and the Mayor of Mount Vernon recognized the Greater Hudson Valley Chapter during the concert. It was a wonderful acknowledgment of our chapter’s commitment to friendship, service, and community engagement.

💚💚 Friendship is one of the hallmarks of The Links, Incorporated, and this evening beautifully reflected that spirit. Here’s to a fantastic summer filled with fellowship, fun, and unforgettable memories!

Congratulations to Charter member of the Greater Hudson Valley (NY) Chapter Virginia K. Lee on achieving her Platinum Membership status at the 45th National Assembly in Detroit, Michigan!

This is the highest status a member can achieve in the Links, Incorporated. We want to thank her for her commitment, dedication, service and friendship to our organization.

This past Sunday, members of the Greater Hudson Valley (NY) Chapter were on site at the 40th Annual African American Heritage Festival at the Kenisco Dam. Chapter members distributed “banned books” and designed African masks and donated coloring books and supplies to festival attendees.

The Greater Hudson Valley (NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated proudly celebrates TWO outstanding national honors received at the 45th National Assembly in Detroit, Michigan, recognizing the chapter’s commitment to youth achievement, health equity, and collaborative community impact.

Our chapter was awarded Third Place in the Young Masters Signature Program Music Category, celebrating the exceptional talent and creativity of its student participants.

Second, our chapter was awarded Third Place in the Inter-Chapter Collaboration Program category for its innovative partnership with the Westchester County (NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated through the award-winning initiative, “Linked Together in Faith to Address Kidney and Heart Disease.” This national recognition honors the chapters’ collaborative approach to advancing health equity through faith-based outreach, culturally responsive education, and community-centered strategies designed to reduce kidney disease, hypertension, and cardiovascular health disparities among African American communities in Westchester County.

These awards reflect the Greater Hudson Valley Chapter’s unwavering commitment to excellence in service, innovative programming, and meaningful collaboration. By empowering youth through the arts and improving health outcomes through strategic partnerships, the chapter continues to exemplify the mission of The Links, Incorporated to enrich, sustain, and ensure the cultural and economic survival of persons of African ancestry.
