For those that aren't our email list, and haven't seen - Come join us for our first Enough is Enough "Town Hall"

We will:
-Provide a forum for much more back and forth dialogue than the email list or social media allows

-Share pertinent updates on the fight to stop the 570 Main St proposal, in advance of the September 30th Planning Board Meeting (among other things we're working on)

-Discuss ideas to get the City to agree to a moratorium on ALL downtown building approvals

Hope to see you there!

REMINDER: Public Rally tonight (June 25th) @ 6:00 PM. We'll meet at Ruby Dee Park and then march with signs downtown to specific sites we want to highlight

It's going to be a hot one, but it should only last ~1 hour, and those "famous" downtown New Rochelle winds will help keep us cool! Hope to see you there

Hi Everyone –
We’ve been quiet social media wise, but we certainly haven’t been inactive! A few updates:

1) We’re doing our next public rally on 6/25/25, 6:00 PM, at Ruby Dee Park. The last rally had great energy - from people from all parts of the city - and good media coverage as well. Hopefully you can make it!

2) We’ve created an online version of our building approval moratorium petition, if you haven’t signed up with us in person, sign up via this link: https://www.jotform.com/251495873658171

3) If you’re not on our email list, sign up to get all our latest updates (we generally send ~1 email per week, so we won’t be flooding your inbox). This is our main communication channels, so sign up here: forms.gle/oVwzHmcymZHavZ5q7

The City is kicking off their District Community Meeting series this week. Our Core Team is going to attend all the meetings, but we'd highly encourage everyone to at least join the meeting for your district.

It's an opportunity to: engage with your City Representatives, show we are an active community, listen to what they are working on, and pushback on things we are concerned about (e.g. all the issues from over development, lack of quality of life improvements downtown, making further calls for a moratorium on downtown building approvals, etc).

See you there!

We have now delayed the pictured 570 Main high-rise TWICE (which is unprecedented for a DOZ project) and plan to continue fighting.

But 570 Main is just a symptom of a broken redevelopment plan, and we need your help! We’re calling for a moratorium on all new downtown building approvals. During this pause the city needs to do a proper evaluation of what’s been done vs what was originally promised, and prove to its citizens that further development beyond the original 2015 targets will provide tangible benefits. It’s been a decade of redevelopment, the time to pause, and course correct, is now.

How you can help:
1. Email your City Councilor and tell them we need a moratorium on new downtown approvals (reach out if you need help identifying your Councilor, or want an email template to send)

2. Join us on April 8th, 7:00PM, at City Hall for Citizens to be Heard. Anyone that wants to speak gets 3 minutes to do so.

3. Volunteer to help us collect signatures on our petition and/or sign up if you see us downtown

More good coverage on our movement (the 3/24 Rally in particular). This time from News 12 Westchester

Also don't forget tonight is the Public Hearing on the proposed 570 Main St development. 7:00PM at City Hall. Come voice your concerns and let the Planning Board know what you think about ANOTHER hi-rise. Even if you don't want to speak a good public turnout will still help.

Members from a grassroots group called New Ro: Enough is Enough say they are worried about the development of downtown New Rochelle.

Great article from The Patch on our growing movement! It calls out the rally tonight @ 5:30 (it says 5:00, but that's not correct), and the March 25th 7:00 PM Public Hearing on the proposed 28-Story 570 Main St Apartment Building.

As New Rochelle again looks to change its skyline, many city residents and small business owners fear they have been all but forgotten.

Hey New Rochelle - Are you tired of yet ANOTHER high-rise apartment building popping up (...without any benefits for those of us that actually live here)?

If so, sign up for our mailing list to join the movement, and get the latest updates, as we change the conversation around development in this city. It's time we take our downtown back!
