Pointe Coupee Council on Aging We are dedicated to providing services to senior citizens. We aim to help them maintain their independence and live in thier own home as long as possible.

Council on Aging's Goals And Objectives:

• Self-sufficiency of the elderly though nutrition, homemaker, personal care and transportation services.

• Prevent neglect, abuse or exploitation of the elderly.

• Provide for, or access to community or home based care to prevent premature institutionalization.

• Matching the wide variety of individual needs with appropriate community resources and ass

isting them in gaining access to needed services.

• Recreation for elderly to prevent loneliness, and depression, and also to keep them outgoing and mentally alert.

• Weekly lunch programs to provide for minimum daily nutritional requirements needed.

• Take action on an older person’s behalf in order to secure needed services and/or for benefits which otherwise may not be obtained.

The Pointe Coupee Council on Aging held its Red Carpet Annual Membership Meeting on June 18, 2026. During the quarterly meeting on May 14, 2026, the Board of Directors conducted its Board of Directors Nominations in accordance with GOEA requirements. The following board members were nominated for their second term: Brandon Bergeron, Jenny Settoon, Fonda McKneely, Rene Thibodeaux, and Theron Smith. Having received no additional nominations, these members were elected by acclamation. Each has contributed valuable knowledge, leadership, and commitment to the Board of Directors over the past three years. Elections of officers were Brock Vosburg - President, Brandon Bergeron – Vice President, Jenny Settoon – Secretary, and Paula Lambert – Treasurer.
The Annual Meeting also recognized supporters and partners, including donors to the Adopt an Elderly Campaign, sponsors of the Friends of the Seniors Gala, Union Pacific Railroad Grant Award, Employee Service Award honorees, Site Award recipients, and Outstanding Senior Award winners.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Senator Caleb Kleinpeter and Representative Jeremy LaCombe for their ongoing advocacy and steadfast support of senior services in Pointe Coupee Parish.
Additionally, the Pointe Coupee Health Service District was recognized for providing funding for operating costs as well as the Capital Outlay Project supporting new construction.
Thanks to Southeast Louisiana Legal Services and Pointe Coupee Homebound Health & Hospice for participating with valuable information.
The Pointe Coupee Council on Aging remains committed to enhancing the quality of life for older adults through essential services, community partnerships, and strong leadership.
