Jackie is making tremendous progress, her eye is healing wonderfully as evidenced by the drainage reduction, and her feisty spirit remains unshaken. Although bandage changes aren't her favorite, her face lights up when she gets to snuggle and 'suckle' on your finger. We're grateful for any help we can get to offset the $300 surgery bill still pending - every contribution brings us closer to giving Jackie the care she deserves, and we'd be thankful for your support. Jackie update
She is doing great and continues to thrive. She decided she wanted to see the vet again so yesterday he came out and as everything looked good he decided to put a few more sutures in as Jackie loves to nose bump everyone. We had to come up with a protective mask and this is what we came up with( see photos). Then we felt as Jackie was continuing to take her hind leg and scratch her eye we needed something a little more reinforced so I made a call to a friend and as normal she came through. She gave us a few masks with blinkers and a full cup. One of our volunteers took it home and sewed the cup on and thank god so far it’s working great. Thank you everyone we appreciate all of you prayers and support ❤️

We're keeping Jackie lifted up in our thoughts and prayers as she undergoes a crucial step towards healing tomorrow - the removal of her right eye. Despite being kicked in the face by an adult donkey as a young baby, resulting in a traumatic brain injury and eye trauma, Jackie has shown remarkable resilience. Initially, her future was uncertain as she battled severe seizures every 5 minutes and a high fever, but thanks to her fighting spirit, she made it through those challenging 8 hours and eventually stopped turning in circles and regained control of her tongue after 4 days. Following a severe reaction to the Mare match formula, Jackie's caregivers had to nurse her back to health with a special diet of goat's milk and softened alfalfa pellets. Now, with her stability and progress, our vet recommends removing the eye to prevent further complications from her eyelashes growing into her eye, as she's lost vision in that eye. Your support can make a difference in Jackie's journey. We are at $1640 from over $2400 so Thank you, As our weather is climbing we needed to put up some awesome shades that was donated and some of our wonderful supporters. A couple of our volunteers couldn’t wait to help with getting it up for the horses and donkeys. Oh and Mijo and Finn allowed Crystal to give them a man bun 😂.
