We moved the Pinewood Derby out to March 18th to accommodate Spring Break plans. We will be going over more details, ideas, and resources for Derby car making at our February Meeting next Tuesday.

Thank you to all those who attended our Fitness Field Day this past weekend! The details regarding the requirements fulfilled for each rank and what is remaining to earn the badge are below.

LIONS: "Fun on the Run"
Completed Requirements:
--- 1. (3 exercises)
--- 3. (importance of rest)
--- 4. (Jungle Field Day)

Requirements Still Needed:
--- 2. Make a nutritious snack for the Den.


TIGERS: "Games Tigers Play"
Completed Requirements:
--- 1. A-C (team building games and discussions)
--- 3. (make up a game with your den)
--- 4. (make up a new game)

Requirements Still Needed:
--- 2. Talk with your family about why good nutrition helps you to be strong and active. Bring a nutritious snack to a den meeting (if you do this for the February or March meeting this badge will be fulfilled/presented in March).

WOLVES: "Running With The Pack"
Completed Requirements:
--- 2. (balancing game)
--- 4. (game and sportsmanship)
--- 5. (kangaroo hop, crab walk)

Requirements Still Needed:
--- 1. Play catch with someone in your den or family who is standing 5 steps from you. Play until you can throw and catch successfully at this distance. Take a step back and see if you can improve your throwing and catching skills.
--- 3. Practice flexibility and balance by doing a front roll, back roll, and a frog stand.
--- 6. Demonstrate what it means to eat a balanced diet by helping to plan a healthy menu for a meal for your den/family. Make a shopping list of the food used to prepare the meal.

WEBELOS: "Stronger, Faster, Higher"
Completed Requirements:
--- 1. (warm ups/stretching and discussion)
--- 2. (activities - we will send your results in a separate email)
--- 6. (lead younger scouts in fitness games)

Requirements Still Needed:
--- 3. Make an exercise plan that includes at least three physical activities. Carry out your plan for 30 days and write down your progress each week.

Veterans Days cards will be going out next week, so thank you to all who participated! We will not be having a meeting this Saturday. We are working on sourcing more materials for the Space Derby and hope to schedule that for early next year. In the meantime, please have your cub work on their Bobcat Badge and let us know once they have met the requirements so we can get them ordered for the upcoming pack meeting.

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to the parent information meeting. If you have not yet signed up, here is the info to get started, as well as useful links. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me directly on my cell at the bottom of the post. We have the fall day camp coming up on Sunday, October 16 (Saturday was full - I will be confirming the time tomorrow), so make sure to get your cub registered to the pack as soon as possible!

How to sign up:

Pack meetings will be held at United Methodist Church in New Richmond, WI at 7:00-8:00pm. The calendar below is for all of the lions, but the outings will be adjusted for other age groups as well as we get more cubs enrolled.

How can I help?
We want parents involved in the scouting experience and we want it to be fun and safe for everyone, so we highly encourage taking the online Youth Protection training. If you are interested in taking a more active role with the pack, please let me know and we will make sure to get you all that information as well :)
