The Brooke Healey Foundation

The Brooke Healey Foundation The Brooke Healey Foundation helps families dealing with pediatric brain cancer, especially DIPG, supports targeted DIPG research and encourages activism.

The Brooke Healey Foundation was created to build awareness and raise funds for research Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG); to help families dealing with pediatric cancers, especially brain cancers and DIPG; to foster community relationships; and to promote involvement through scholarships awarded to civically active high school seniors. The Foundation exists in honor of 5-year-old Brooke He

aley, daughter of Steve and Stefani, who was diagnosed with DIPG, an inoperable, very aggressive tumor in the middle of the brain stem (the Pons), on January 14, 2013. She passed away on September 9, 2013. During the eight months of Brooke’s brave fight against DIPG, she never complained and continued to bring smiles to everyone with her larger than life personality. Her battle inspired people from all over the world who came together in support of Brooke, the Healey family and each other. DIPG is a type of tumor that only affects children. There is no cure. In fact, pediatric brain tumors in general have a survival rate of less than 20%. Research in this area is greatly underfunded. Families facing DIPG have very few resources or options. We will change both of these facts. We will help find a cure for DIPG. Until then, we will help make life just a little easier for those dealing with the disease. We are a Foundational Partner DIPG Consortium http://www.dipg.org

Pediatric cancers deserve more than "not enough."

Right now, pediatric cancer research receives less than 6% of total cancer funding-even though children and families face diagnoses that demand urgent, life-changing progress.

How do we close the gap?

With action. With donations.

Your gift helps fund targeted research-the kind of focused science that brings us closer to better outcomes, including for pediatric brain tumors like DIPG/DMG.

Because progress is still possible. And hope can be powered.

Donate today to support targeted research and help power hope.

Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day! 🍎

Today, we want to thank the teachers and school communities who show up every day with patience, kindness, and care….especially for students and families navigating tough medical challenges like pediatric brain tumors, including DIPG/DMG.

Your encouragement matters. Your support matters. And your impact lasts far beyond the classroom.

💛 Thank you for helping create a world where every child is seen, valued, and supported. 💜
