Dear Team Romeo Delta Force,
I hope wherever you are you are doing well. Last year marked the five year anniversary of Rome's death, we enter a new era now. That first year at the 5k was a special event, so many came out to memorialize Rome's passing and the gift he gave to those in need. It is embedded in our memory and helps us every day. After five years I leave it to you, the members of TEAM ROMEO DELTA FORCE, to carry on Rome's memory at this year's event. Remember him in your own way, if you want to Captain the team it is yours, just step up, contact me. We remember him, love him, miss him in our own way and cherish and respect how you do as well. We love you TEAM ROMEO DELTA FORCE! You are always in his and our heart.

Hello Team Romeo Delta Force! I am pleased to announce that Clare Soule Dominguez, Romeo's aunt, is the Captain for this year's team. This year marks five years since Romeo left us and in that time Team Romeo Delta Force has done tremendous work raising money and awareness for the cause of organ donation. That's what you did! I can only imagine what Rome would be like today, he was filled with so much imagination and love. I do know he would be thrilled to know his aunt took up the mantle in his name this year. Hello Team Romeo Delta Force! We are just a few short months from this year's NJ Sharing Network 5K fundraiser(http://5k.njsharingnetwork.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=1121504) . Liv, Amy, and I have been discussing who should be Captain this year. Different members of our family have taken the lead in the past but this year we wanted to open it up a little bit. So many of you loved Romeo dearly and he loved you too. So much! We thought this year we might open up the Captainship to all those who love Rome, close family and friends, you belong here and should be a part of how we honor him. Honor him for the life he gave us and for the gifts he gave to so many others before he drew that last, precious breath. So, PM me, post here in the comments...We will still provide all the support and work required to make this happen but we wanted all the people Romeo loved to have a chance to do this special thing. We want to thank everyone who came out yesterday as a part of Team Romeo Delta Force and those who joined up even tho they couldn't be there in person. We are so thankful to have the support of Team Renzo Gracie Middletown Martial Arts. Liv, Rome's younger sister, has been with the Renzo Gracie Academy for more than three years. Not only has she learned amazing technique and discipline but she also gained a family of mentors and friends that have impacted here life immeasurably. She is stronger today because of their guidance and care and we could not be more thankful for all they have done for her and now by helping spread the word about our team for this year's 5K. We hope you can join us this year and look forward to seeing you there.

We are less than a month away from this year's NJ Sharing Network 5k Walk/Run. As we approach the date I wanted to share this story that Carrie Keating wrote soon after the first 5K in 2011. It is a beautiful, fascinating story detailing the last days of Rome's time with us and unexpected connections that go back to the days of my own childhood in Baldwin, NY. We are getting close to this year's NJ Sharing Network 5k, Rome's time of the year. This year the race falls on June 8th, four days before the four year anniversary of Rome's passing.
