Thanks to everyone who came to The Savage Tap yesterday for our event RAISING HOPE FOR A CURE for ALS and FTD! It was a friendly, family get-together ... we all got to see old friends and make some new friends who live in the Metro area ...

Most importantly, we renewed our mission of HOPE to raise awareness about ALS & FTD, and raise some money for medical research to find new treatments and cures.

We are grateful to The Savage Tap for providing a fantastic venue for this event, and many thanks to Rockin' Woody for keeping us all entertained with our favorite music!

Next, we hope you can join us for our annual "main event" -- the Hops For Hope - Fundraiser for ALS and FTD at the Next Chapter Winery in New Prague on September 12, 1-8pm. We'll see you there!!

DON'T FORGET!! We'll be RAISING HOPE FOR A CURE for ALS & FTD at The Savage Tap this Saturday, August 1, from 4-7pm. Sing along with Rockin' Woody! GREAT NEWS! A potion of the money raised by "Hops For Hope" and "Raising Hope For A Cure" fundraisers is directly funding two promising research studies that are investigating how to control a specialized protein in nerve cells, called TDP-43, which is believed to play a part in both ALS and FTD.

*** Medical researcher Dr. Kevin Rhine is testing hundreds of drug compounds on aged nerve cells to see if any of the drugs can cause "mis-located" TDP-43 protein to re-locate back where it is supposed to be, which in turn might slow, stop, or reverse progression of nerve cell degeneration. *** Neuroscientist Dr. Nikole Zuniga Quiroz is leading a research project to develop a new gene therapy that is designed to target the toxic TDP-43 aggregates that cause nerve cell degeneration in cases of ALS and FTD, without interfering with normal TDP-43 proteins.

SAVE THE DATE for the 2026 Hops For Hope - Fundraiser for ALS and FTD !!! ... Join us on Saturday, SEPTEMBER 12, from 1-8pm at the Next Chapter Winery in New Prague!

Hops For Hope is an annual fundraising event in New Prague, hosted by Raising Hope For A Cure. Through 2025, Hops For Hope has raised over $475,000 for critical research. These funds have already contributed to numerous exciting ALS and FTD research efforts. Never before have so many researchers been focused on finding new treatments for ALS and FTD!

"Raising Hope For A Cure" -- Who Are We?

Our non-profit’s mission is to provide HOPE to people living with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and FTD (Fronto-temporal Dementia) ... two neurodegenerative diseases that have no cure.

Sadly, many of our family members, friends, and neighbors have been impacted by these devastating diseases.

Since 2018, our organization has been hosting annual fundraiser events and distributing the money raised to leading organizations like The ALS Association (www.als.org) and The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (www.theaftd.org) to fund promising medical research. We all want to find more treatments, and ultimately cures, for these diseases.
