We gained a new scout today in 7323. Lucy, who earned her Arrow of Light, crossed from Cub Scouts into Scouting America. One of Lucy’s older sisters, Vivian, was the denmate of Avigayil back in Cub Scouts. She will be transferring to our troop also. Welcome!

The scouts had fun yesterday with their float in the Parade of Lights and providing fires for warmth for the crowd.

Our Order of the Arrow lodge, Totanhan Nakaha, sent 150 people to the section conclave for service and fellowship. We were the only ones from our chapter (district). It was the first time Avigayil and Jordan had been to Northern Tier. We were clearing brush and trees from under the power lines in a neat manner so the other utilities could be seen also. The Brotherhood of Cheerful Service made one of Scouting America’s camps beautiful this weekend and we were happy to help! Next year’s section conclave is at Phillipo. You should join us!

We have a new troop storage room! The strong boys helped set it up. Some other shenanigans happened also. It’s a work in progress.

Sam Anderson’s Eagle project is coming along nicely. Scouts were painting today while adults worked with metal. Sam is upgrading Holy Cross’s activity shed. They have been putting sports supplies in a smaller shed for years. This one is sturdier, on a cement slab, and closer to the building. Thanks, Sam!

The girls troop (7323) joined the boys (9323) at Tomahawk this year after spending the past couple years at Many Point Scout Camp. It was a decision that made it easier for the adults to support both troops. Everyone loves Chippewa subcamp, so we couldn’t get a site as close to the boys as we hoped. However, we got a really beautiful campsite that we will be coming back to next year. It is close to the showers, the beach, the dining hall, the trading post, and even the staff! Not only can we hear and see the swimming, but we also have our own dock that we could make a swimming area with the right actions and approvals.

9323 has been camping in Comanche site of Chippewa subcamp ever since Tomahawk has been a scout camp. I thought I would show everyone who stumbles on this page why our troop keeps coming back. This site is beautiful. I mean, bejng right across from Ecology is a major benefit, being the best drinking water source in camp, but the beauty of the site is incredible.
