“There’s no Pentecost without a crucifixion.” True, but there’s not even that without our Gethsemane.
We must make the decision first to die to this world and the things of it, to live for Jesus.
Thank God for the place where Jesus won first.
The Bible says that Jesus’ sweat was like blood (Luke 22.44). Did you know that when olives are crushed or pressed, the liquid can sometimes have a reddish or purplish appearance? It depends on the color and how ripened they are.
The olive that would bring forth a never ending supply of oil to the world was crushed to fill our vessels and give us life.
He didn’t win at the resurrection, He won here at the garden. Thank you Lord.
What you see behind us is an olive tree that could date back approximately 900 years and have a root system significantly older.
It is very possible that this tree be descended from olive trees growing in the garden during Jesus’ lifetime.
