Your Rotary donations are hard at work! We helped Queen Brenda raise donations for the Jail and Bail fundraiser that took place on July 17th. All funds benefited Wheelchairs 4 Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children with physical disabilities and their families.

They achieve this mission through four programs. Let's Roll addresses mobility and accessibility issues by providing wheelchairs, home, and vehicle modifications, as well as necessary medical equipment at no cost to families.

Wheely fun days addresses socialization and inclusion by hosting confidence and community building events such as adaptive waterskiing, accessibility zipling, and adaptive summer camp.

Scholarships address independence by awarding tuition assistance for young adults seeking higher education or vocational school.

The compassion program provides up to $1,000 toward final expenses when families lose their child.

Thanks to you all we are able to help organizations doing so much for our community!

Last week we inducted Judith Koutsos as an Honorary Rotarian and we know - IT'S ABOUT TIME! Judith has done so much for our community and our Club. She has always been a New Port Richey Rotarian - we just made it Facebook official. Thank you for being a part of our Rotary family.

Today was Andy's last meeting as President. A pie challenge was made a while back that whoever scored the highest at the Angelus Clay Shoot would win the chance to throw a pie in the face of Andy or Steve. Mike Hroch was thrown in as an option because there should be some consequences for his horrible jokes whenever he decides to show up to a meeting. Mike Bishop won the challenge. If you want to know how all the pie shenanigans went check out the video.

A couple months ago we added two new blue badges - Michelle McPeters and Bill Rutherford. Michelle is the owner of Gulfside Custom T-shirts and Bill is the CEO of Invincia Technologies. It is not easy going through all the red badge requirements, which shows their commitment to our club. These two new Rotarians went a step above and agreed to serve on the incoming Board - Michelle as Youth Service Chair and Bill as Club IT/Technology Chair. Thank you for hitting the ground running to help our club, allowing us to have an even greater impact on our community.

Yesterday the incoming Board met to discuss the upcoming year and what we can do to continue having a huge impact on our community. Here are some highlights.

Rotary Santa needs our help so start asking for donations early. The Chasco Fiesta Boat Parade was the best yet, but as one of our oldest programs we need to continue to step up our game to get even MORE amazing boats. We all work hard to take care our community - this year President Mike is going to ramp up the fun piece so be ready for some additional family friendly socials.

Our Club is so amazing because of everything our members do and the time, treasures and talents they bring to the table. We're excited for the new year and looking forward to doing it with our Rotary Family. Cheers!

Our friend Dell from New Port Richey FarmNet stopped by Wednesday to talk about the 13th Annual Loquat Festival. It is this Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm at Peace Hall in Sims Park. There will be all sorts of loquat foods to purchase, and even some Loquat trees if you want to start growing your own supply. Don't know what a Loquat is? Head on over to Downtown New Port Richey tomorrow and try one of these delicious plum like fruits. Special thanks to Kurt for being our t-shirt model.

Last week we were fortunate enough to have Kelly Maki Hackman from The White Heron Tea & Gifts as our speaker. Many of us have known Kelly forever for her work with New Port Richey Main Street, as a Board Member and Executive Director of Chasco Fiesta, and her endless efforts to bring tourism to the City of New Port Richey. What some of you might not realize is that her amazing tearoom has been in existence for an entire decade! They have entertained 40,515 guests in their tearoom while serving 50,642 pots of tea - how impressive is that! Many of her visitors are from out of town. What brought them to Downtown New Port Richey? Many times they're here visiting family and friends. Keep telling people how awesome New Port Richey is so that our Downtown businesses can continue to thrive.
