🐾📚 Meet Piper — Our New Reading Therapy Dog!

Beginning March 9, St. Clement Orthodox Christian Academy is welcoming a very special new member to our school family — Piper, our reading therapy dog!

Research shows that when children read aloud to a calm, friendly dog, it can:
✨ Build reading confidence
✨ Reduce anxiety around mistakes
✨ Encourage reluctant readers
✨ Improve fluency and comprehension
✨ Create a joyful love for books

Piper is a small, hypoallergenic, and specially trained therapy dog who will help create a relaxed and encouraging environment for students as they practice reading.

This program is especially meaningful because Mrs. Carol Norton, our Language Arts Specialist, previously trained and worked with a reading therapy dog that served students across the county and was even featured in the news. Her experience will help guide this program in a safe and impactful way.

We can’t wait for our students to meet Piper and experience the joy of reading with a furry friend. 🐶📖

✨ A truly blessed day at St. Clement Academy! ✨

We had the incredible honor of welcoming His Eminence Metropolitan Youssef. We prayed the Divine Liturgy together, enjoyed breakfast and an encouraging talk with our teachers, toured classrooms, and our middle schoolers were so excited to ask him their questions!

We are overwhelmed by God’s goodness and grace covering our beautiful school community.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing mom volunteers who helped make this day extra special. 💙🧡
