Rags to Riches Animal Rescue inc really needs your help! Please help spread the word! Anything and everything helps!

We are currently closed for intake. We do not want our page to become a negative spot where we are constantly upset/overwhelmed, so we have to pause. We only have 4 coordinators who also work full time, as well as a group of incredible fosters and volunteers who are stretched thin. We do not want to burn them out either! Keep in mind, we are foster-based and hands on, plus have a large amount of medical animals, with no shelter/pet store or government assistance. We rely 100% on donations, and we understand the economy is terrible right now. We also do not want to beg for donations when we know our supporters are struggling too.
We also need stronger regulations on backyard breeding, dumping, more state funding for TNR, etc., to reach the core of the problem.
What this means we cannot do:
-We are no longer accepting community intake; if you find a cat/dog please post on Tampa Bay Rescue Network or reach out to your local shelter
-We cannot provide assistance for out of state animals
-We cannot provide physical trapping assistance at this time
-We cannot pull from local ER/shelter until we recoup funds/get adoptions
What we CAN do:
-Continue to provide medical care/support for ALL animals in our rescue (130+ cats/dogs), including our current Parvo dogs & Pan Leuk cats!
-Assist in providing resources; this may look like an automatic response/voicemail with a plethora of information. Please take the time to read/listen as we have worked hard on these!
-Personally respond to resource requests/posts WHEN we have availability. This may not be instant.
-Work behind the scenes with local groups trying to pass legislation/laws to deal with the cause of the issues we’re seeing.
-Assist local rescues & work on building community/providing education to our community
-Find forever homes for the foster animals currently in our rescue’s care
-Lend traps & cover the cost of TNR if funding is available for anyone local interested in trapping
-Occasionally assist with/trap urgent cases with dire needs, only if we are capable
How can you help?
-Get involved! Take a foster training class, volunteer at a local shelter, TNR!!!!, attend local court cases regarding animal issues, donate if you can, did we mention TNR?? ❤️🫶
-Please please get pet insurance if you don’t have it. We have hundreds of messages asking for assistance with huge emergency vet bills. This breaks our hearts and causes us so much guilt.

We love you all so so much and will still be here but please be patient with us at this time! We worked our butts off this kitten season and took in as many dumped dogs as we physically could. We hope no one is disappointed in this decision💗
