Today felt different with Hash Brown. ❤️
Tomorrow, he has a meet & greet.
And as much as I’ve hoped and prayed for this sweet boy to find his person, I realized today that getting what you pray for can still hurt a little.
Hash Brown is the first dog I’ve allowed into that tender part of my heart since losing Chunk.
I’ve visited him, sat beside him, rubbed his belly, kissed that sweet face, brought him little surprises, talked softly to him and loved him exactly where he is.
So today, I tried to remember everything.
Every look.
Every touch.
Every kiss.
Every minute with his head beside me.
I hugged him. I kissed him. I told him I loved him. And I hummed the little song that always seems to make him settle down. ❤️
Because there’s a chance this was our last visit.
And if it was?
Then this is exactly what I prayed would happen for him.
Not that I would get to keep visiting him forever…
but that someday I wouldn’t need to.
That someone would walk through those doors, look at Hash Brown and see what I see.
A beautiful boy who deserves a home.
A person.
A place where he belongs. 🐾
So tomorrow, I’m asking all of you who have followed his story to send every bit of good luck his way.
Please leave Hash Brown a 🐾 in the comments and wish our boy luck at his meet & greet tomorrow. ❤️
