All proceeds to benefit New Plymouth Agriculture Student College Scholarship fund. Sunny’s Rally was started by Don Littlefield after the loss of his daughter Sunny in 2017. She loved the red 51 Chevy pick-up they built together and drove it in high school and many years after. Later, Don acquired the 56 Chevy Bel-Air hardtop. Sunny agreed to help him with the restoration and they spent 2 long yea
rs restoring it. For those who have seen this beautiful car can agree it was well worth the wait. Sunny's Bel-Air won a trophy at every car show they went to for many years. Sunny loved the car shows and the people loved her. She was great friends with old and young. Don wanted to do something to honor her memory that involved the car world. Almost every small town now has a car show, and Sunny and Don had attended the New Plymouth car show a number of times and both always loved the park and the small-town atmosphere. The original New Plymouth car show had been dropped for a number of years so Don did a little checking with the city, and they allowed him to give it a try. The first year the show was held on Sunny's birthday - October 6th, 2017. It was a small show with friends and family. It was a potluck in the park and was a great success. After the show, Brian Harris approached Don and shared with him that he too had lost his son, Luke Harris, a few years earlier, and offered to help with the show. Since then, Sunny's Rally became a memorial car show for both Sunny and Luke, and the proceeds from the event go to a college scholarship fund for a New Plymouth High School Agriculture student in both of their names. Each year it gets a little bigger and better. With the help of many friends, family, and sponsors we hope this will be an exciting event for many years to come.
