🍫🐾 Meet Nutella – A Sweet Boy Looking for a Second Chance! 🐾🍫

Meet Nutella, a handsome 7-month-old Chocolate Lab with a story that reminds us that not every adoption journey is picture-perfect. ❤️

Nutella was adopted from TCHS when he was just 8 weeks old. Unfortunately, he was recently returned to us due to behavioral challenges.

Since his return, our staff has been working incredibly hard to help Nutella overcome these challenges, build confidence, and learn the skills he needs to be successful. He’s making progress, but his journey doesn’t end with us.

Nutella needs more than just a home. He needs someone who understands that puppies require patience, consistency, structure, and continued training. He needs a person or family who is willing to put in the time and effort to help him become the best version of himself.

At just 7 months old, Nutella still has so much growing and learning to do! We don’t want his past challenges to define his future. ❤️

Nutella isn’t looking for perfection. He’s looking for someone who won’t give up on him. 🐾

We know his perfect match is out there, and we’re hoping that special someone sees this post!

🏡 Ready to give Nutella the second chance he deserves?

Some things are hard to hear, and then there are things that are beyond hard to see. A couple months ago we had to handle a situation where dogs were being kept in deplorable conditions. We took 32 dogs out of this situation. There was 64 total (they had surrendered 32 to the pound, and swore there was only 3-4 dogs left) Thank you to the Humane Officer for doing his due diligence, we were able to make sure no dog was left behind. It took a team effort, and thank you to our staff for caring for these animals which all were in bad shape with lots of skin issues. Now everyone is healed up physically, spayed or neutered, and up to date on their vaccines. The only thing left is for them to heal emotionally. We have separated them out into males and females on their posters. We have young, old, and adolescent. These are pug/beagle mixes known as “puggles”. They are all looking for a family to call their own where they are the number one, not a number among 64. Anyone interested please fill out an application at www.tuschumanesociety.com
*this case is currently in the court system, we are hoping for justice for the “Puggle Pack”

ADOPTED!!!!!! We will keep you posted on her journey!! 💗💗

Our hearts break for Izzee. 💔😞
Adopted in 2020, returned in 2025 due to owners health issues. Spent 2 very very sad months here at the shelter.
Then was adopted again and now just returned to us because new owner got married and new husband doesn’t want a dog in the house. (So much to say about this- but we will take the high road)
We feel terrible for Izzee, and are praying her FINAL family will find her. She is so sweet, housebroken and LOVES everyone but lights up when Men enter the shelter.
She is 8 years old and has been through so much and doesn’t deserve to be back at the shelter. She is gentle and just hangs out in the front office- and seems to enjoy anyone and everyone that comes in. She doesn’t seem to mind cats or other dogs. She is a big girl weighing 98 pounds. If you are interested in giving Izzee her final stop please only apply if you will be keeping her
forever. Apply at

🐾💦 THANK YOU for an AMAZING Doggie Pool Day! 💦🐾

A huge thank you to everyone—and every DOG 🐶—who joined us this past Sunday for Doggie Pool Day! We had SO much fun watching all the pups splash, swim, play, and enjoy the pool! 🏊‍♂️🐕💦 It was great to see the repeat attendees and even seeing and meeting new dogs this year!

A very special thank you to the City of Dover for continuing to allow TCHS to host this fun community event each year. We truly appreciate your continued support! ❤️

Thanks to everyone who came out, we were able to raise an incredible $1,056! 🎉 Every dollar raised will go directly toward caring for the abused, abandoned, and neglected animals of Tuscarawas County. 🐾

We couldn’t do what we do without the support of our amazing community. Thank you for making Doggie Pool Day such a success—and for giving our four-legged friends one last BIG splash of summer! ☀️💦🐶

We can’t wait to do it again next year! 🐾❤️
