🚒 TRAINING TOGETHER. GETTING BETTER TOGETHER. 🚒

United Hook & Ladder Co. 33 recently hosted a hands-on vehicle rescue training with our mutual aid partners, putting teamwork, communication, and technical skills to the test!

Crews worked through two 40-minute vehicle rescue scenarios, utilizing four rescue groups and incorporating critical techniques, including tie-backs, lift and capture, roof removal, and dash rolls. With close to 40 personnel participating, the evening was a great example of what can be accomplished when departments come together with a shared commitment to training and serving our communities.

Before the scenarios kicked off, everyone gathered to share a meal. A huge thank-you to our kitchen personnel for making sure everyone was fed and ready to go! 🍽️

👏 A special thank-you to our mutual aid partners:
🚒 Irishtown Fire Company 14
🚒 Northeast Adams Fire & Rescue Company 32
🚑 Adams Regional EMS

We appreciate your participation, professionalism, and commitment to working together. Training like this strengthens relationships, builds confidence, and helps ensure we’re ready to work side by side when our communities need us most.

One team. Multiple departments. One mission: serving our communities. 💪

🚒❤️ MORE THAN A FIRE COMPANY… WE’RE FAMILY. ❤️🚒

After an early morning fire, our volunteers at United Hook & Ladder Co. 33 did what family does best — took a moment to sit down, break some bread, and enjoy each other’s company. 🍳☕️

The calls, the training, the early mornings, and the late nights are all part of being a firefighter. It’s the friendships, and the moments in between that make it all worthwhile. It’s about showing up for our community, standing beside each other when things get tough, and knowing you’re part of something bigger than yourself.

We’re always looking for the next person to join our family! You don’t need to be a firefighter to get started. Whether you’re interested in firefighting, helping behind the scenes, or simply giving back to your community, there’s a place for you at United Hook & Ladder. 🚒

Come see what we’re all about. Meet the crew, ask questions, and find out how you can make a difference right here in your own community.

🔥 Answer the call. Find your purpose. Become part of the family.

Training Together. Responding Together. 🚒🌾

This past Wednesday, members of United Hook & Ladder Co. 33 and our mutual aid partners came together for a Grain Bin Rescue Refresher presented by the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety (NECAS).

Grain bin rescues are specialized, complex, and extremely dangerous incidents that require training, teamwork, and the right equipment. This refresher provided an opportunity for our crews to sharpen their skills and work together to ensure we’re prepared when our communities need us most.

A huge thank you to our mutual aid partners who joined us and continue to strengthen the regional rescue capabilities we rely on:

🚒 Adams County Co. 14
🚒 Adams County Co. 20
🚒 Adams County Co. 22
🚒 Adams County Co. 32
🚒 York County ATR Co. 41

We would also like to thank NECAS for providing the instruction and expertise necessary to keep our members prepared for these challenging incidents.

Last but certainly not least, we’d like to thank our community partners from AgCom for sponsoring this training. Without our community and partners we wouldn’t be what we are today thank you!

Training together today means being better prepared to come home safely and serve our communities tomorrow.

One team. One mission. One community. 💪🚒

A heartfelt thank you to all sponsors, participants, and attendees who helped make this year’s National Night Out possible. Your support, time, and enthusiasm are what brought this event to life.

To our sponsors—Cross Keys Community Park, Cross Keys Fellowship, Yazoo Mills, J & A Towing, Advert, and all organizations providing resources, equipment, and space—your generosity ensures that our community has a safe, welcoming, and engaging place to gather. Your partnership is sincerely appreciated.

To our participants—local municipalities, fire and EMS agencies, law enforcement partners, food vendors, community organizations, and our local Boy Scout troops—thank you for sharing your time, equipment, and energy. Each of you contributes something meaningful, and together you help create an event that reflects the strength and spirit of our community.

To our attendees—families, neighbors, and friends—thank you for joining us, supporting local agencies, and helping build positive connections throughout New Oxford and the surrounding area. Your presence is what makes National Night Out truly special.

A warm shout‑out to our costume characters—Elmo, McGruff the Crime Dog, and Dalmatian—whose appearances brought joy and excitement to the evening and helped make the event memorable for families and children.

A special thank you to our event photographer, Elizabeth Ditzler, for capturing the moments and community spirit that make this event so meaningful, and for her invaluable creative support in developing our marketing material, as well as to DJ David Gonzalez for bringing the music and energy that brought the evening to life.

Tonight, members of United Hook & Ladder Co. 33 were proud to participate in not one, but two National Night Out events, connecting with our community in both New Oxford and Bonneauville!

In New Oxford, our crews enjoyed spending the evening with families, hosting games and activities for the kids while sharing fire safety information. We even had a special visitor—Chief 33 had the opportunity to meet McGruff the Crime Dog! 🐶🚒

In Bonneauville, our members met with community members, handed out fire safety materials, and demonstrated the tools and techniques used during a vehicle extrication. It was a great opportunity to showcase the training and teamwork that goes into serving our community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and spent the evening with us. We appreciate the opportunity to serve such an incredible community and look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
