REV. JOHN GOFF'S OBITUARY
Rev. John S. Goff, 81, of New Oxford, passed Friday, May 24, 2024, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. He was the husband of Sharon M. (Bunner) Goff, his wife of 60 years.
John was born October 6, 1942 in Rose Hill, NC, the son of the late Ervin A. and Margie (Strickland) Goff.
John was a pastor for 52 years, serving at Family Life Church in New Oxford for the last 25 years. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, golfing, playing guitar and harmonica. John served with the National Guard in Georgetown, DE, for several years, and drove a school bus for many years. His favorite saying was “ love, love, love”.
In addition to his wife, Sharon, John is survived by a daughter, Melody Wells of New Oxford, a son, John Goff Jr, of Adams TN, a daughter, Teresa Asher of Cape Girardeau, MO, a daughter, Angela Claar, of Hanover, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a brother, Ervin Goff Jr, of DE. He was predeceased by a brother, Sammie Goff and three grandsons.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 12 PM, at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Gettysburg. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 AM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Family Life Church, 233 Carlisle St, New Oxford, PA 17350.
