Mr. Omar, a 77-year-old Palestinian man and 50-year resident of Louisiana, is safe from ICE’s abuse. His attorney worked with us through our Justice Lab: Immigration program and has won repeatedly against ICE. But this administration continues to ignore the law and violates federal orders. We are helping to train and deploy a legal force across the nation. Mr. Omar’s freedom is one example of its impacts thus far.

TODAY IS ELECTION DAY! Go vote! We can send a message with our turnout. Vote NO on all of the amendments to send a message to Jeff Landry! As this racist government tries to overtake our elections and the will of our vote, today is an opportunity to show them that we the people have the real power.

After a full night of passionate testimony from community members of every corner of the state, lawmakers still moved forward with a racist 5-1 map that cuts Black representation. Tomorrow, that map heads to the Senate floor for a vote. Show up if you can. But be ready to mobilize like never before next week.
