Cardinals win again! Gibbs defeats Brazos Valley (TX) by a final score of 9-1 at Alex Box Stadium on Friday night.

The team was led on the mound by winning pitcher Peyton Stubbs (Destrehan) who threw 4 innings, struck out seven, and allowed no hits. Caden Vallee (Br Martin) followed him on the mound and struck out four in the final two innings.

At the dish, the Cards were led by Derek Weilbacher (Northshore) who was 2-3 with three runs scored, Ethan Hopkins (U High) 1-2 2RBI, and Carter Douglas (ED White) 2-3 RBI. Austin Schott (De La Salle) also added a double.

Cards Fly High at Alex Box!

Gibbs defeats Nola Baseball 12-1 in a mercy rule shortened game behind an outstanding starting performance from Dane Bodin (Lutcher) who only allowed two hits and zero runs in 4 IP. Dawson Roussell (Springfield) closed it on the mound.

Offensively, the Cards pounded out 13 hits with 7 being for extra bases. Griffin Jeandron (Jesuit) was 3-4 with 3 RBI, Connor Smith (Northshore) was 2-3 with a RBI, and Ethan Hopkins (U High) was 2-3 with a RBI.

Other extra base hits came from Derek Delatte (Jesuit), Connor Poirrier (Southside), Bronson Leaumont (Br Martin), and Camden Fisackerly (De La Salle).
