Esther Funds Foundation is using our platform to demand change. 💜

Every year, thousands of students are denied campus housing or left stranded on endless waitlists — through no fault of their own. They did everything right. They got accepted. They showed up. And then they were told there’s no room for them.

This is not a small inconvenience. For many students, it’s the difference between staying enrolled and walking away from their education entirely. It causes real distress, real anxiety, and real dropouts. And too often, it falls hardest on the students who already have the fewest resources to absorb it.

We’re saying what needs to be said: if a college or university cannot house the students it admits, it has a responsibility to fund emergency and off-campus housing support. No student should lose their future over a place to live.

To every student who’s been denied housing or stuck on a waitlist — we see you. You are not a burden. You are not behind. You belong in that classroom, and we are standing with you.

We’re calling on institutions to do better. And we’re calling on our community to stand with us.

Scholarships for African American & Black college students — SAVE THIS one. 💜

We pulled together 21 scholarships you can apply for right now, made specifically for our students: HBCU and UNCF awards, STEM, business, the arts, first-generation, single-parent households, and more. Amounts range from $1,000 all the way up to $8,500.

Here’s the truth: so much money goes unclaimed every year simply because students never hear about it. Not anymore. We’ve got you.

Meet Marcus.

But really — meet his mother. His grandfather. His great-grandmother. The ones who never got the chance.

This isn’t just one student’s story. It’s 170 years of a door being held shut. From anti-literacy laws under slavery, to the GI Bill that quietly left Black veterans behind, to a belief that got passed down quietly through every generation: “college isn’t for people like us.”

Marcus is the first to ask — why not me?

But being first is heavy. No one to call when the forms don’t make sense. No one who’d done it before. Working 30 hours a week, one missed payment from becoming a statistic. Not because he isn’t capable — but because the barriers never left. They just changed shape.

This is exactly why Esther Funds Foundation exists.

The emergency grant. The guidance. The hand his family never had. So Marcus stays. Marcus finishes. Marcus walks the stage. And 170 years of barriers finally end with him.

“For such a time as this.” — Esther 4:14

What just happened? Let’s break it down. 💜

The U.S. Department of Education is shifting how it enforces civil rights laws and reviewing programs that were created specifically for Black and underrepresented students. Some scholarships, mentoring programs, and student-success initiatives could face new scrutiny, be redesigned, or lose federal funding.

Here’s what it does NOT mean: students aren’t losing access to college, and financial aid like Pell Grants isn’t going away. This is a change in how support is structured, not the end of support.

But here’s the truth we can’t ignore: the barriers are still here. Housing insecurity. Food insecurity. Emergency costs. Mental health. Student debt. And when targeted support shrinks, community support matters more than ever.

That’s where we come in.

Esther Funds Foundation supports students by need and by the barriers they face: first-generation, low-income, students with disabilities, student parents, foster youth, and every student fighting to stay enrolled. No student left behind.

We can’t do this quietly, and we can’t do it alone.
