Thank you for your leadership and support of our Clubs, Commissioner Zach England!
And we are proud of Aubri and her leadership in Meigs County and across the Ocoee Region.
Yesterday I had the privilege of touring our local Boys & Girls Club of the Ocoee Region, Meigs Unit, alongside several of my fellow Commissioners, our County Mayor, and Senator J. Adam Lowe.
It was inspiring to see firsthand the work this organization is doing for our community. As one board member shared, the Club isn’t just a babysitting service or before-and-after school program. They are shaping the next generation of productive, thriving young adults.
One example of that mission is Aubri Whaley. I had the honor of meeting her during our visit, and let me tell you, she is the real deal. If Meigs County had a “30 Under 30” list, Aubri would be at the top. Her drive, her story, and her leadership are inspiring, and best of all, she’s Meigs County homegrown.
Aubri has already represented our county and our state on some of the biggest stages, from speaking on cyber safety at the Summit for America’s Youth in Washington, D.C., to serving as a Teen Advisor on the Meigs Club Board, to leading her peers through initiatives like the Keystone Beverage Bus. She is proof of the incredible opportunities and mentorship the Boys & Girls Club provides to our youth.
Later that same evening, Aubri and several board members joined us for our Commission workshop at the courthouse. I couldn’t pass up the chance to get my photo with such a local celebrity.
I see the good that this Club is doing, and I hope you’ll join me in supporting their mission here in Meigs County. And, of course, in supporting Aubri Whaley in her promising future.
