📚✨ Back to School Mental Health Check! ✨📚

A new school year brings exciting opportunities—but it can also bring anxiety, stress, changes in routine, and big emotions. As parents, caregivers, and educators, it’s important to remember that a child’s mental health is just as important as their academic success.

Take time to check in with your child:
💚 Ask how they’re feeling.
💜 Encourage open conversations.
🧡 Keep routines consistent.
💚 Celebrate their efforts, not just their achievements.
🧡 Let them know it’s okay to ask for help.

If your child is struggling with back-to-school stress, anxiety, mood changes, or other mental health concerns, Resource Management Services (RMS) is here to help. Our experienced team provides compassionate, evidence-based mental health services to support children and families throughout the school year.

The behavioral health community has lost a true champion.

Senator Larry Selders was a steadfast advocate who, year after year, authored and passed legislation that expanded access to behavioral health care across our state. He was a valued friend of the Alliance, always willing to champion our priorities, build consensus, and work across the aisle for the good of Louisiana.

His leadership, kindness, and commitment to serving others will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Senator Selders was a great man and a fervent advocate for the behavioral health community. During his years in the legislature he passed many pieces of legislation to improve access to behavioral health care.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who loved him.

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of our colleague and dear friend, Senator Larry Selders.

Larry’s kindness, unwavering optimism, and dedication to the people of Louisiana touched countless lives. He was a friend to all and a public servant who gave his heart to every endeavor.

Please keep his wife, Kendra, their two sons, and all who loved him in your prayers during this difficult time.

His legacy of service will endure, and he will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Senator Larry Selders.

We’ve created a short quiz to help you see if the new work requirements might apply to you.
Some adults who get Medicaid will have new federally mandated work requirements beginning January 1, 2027. These rules won’t affect most Medicaid members.

💜💚 Understanding Schizoaffective Disorder: Awareness, Compassion & Hope 💙🧡

Schizoaffective disorder is a complex mental health condition that includes symptoms of both a mood disorder (such as depression or bipolar disorder) and psychosis-related symptoms (such as hallucinations, delusions, or disorganized thinking). Because symptoms can vary from person to person, early recognition and individualized treatment are key.

The good news? Recovery and stability are possible. With the right combination of psychiatric care, medication management, counseling, supportive services, and community support, individuals living with schizoaffective disorder can lead meaningful and fulfilling lives.

At Resource Management Services (RMS), we are dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centered mental health care and supportive services to help individuals and families navigate the path toward healing and wellness.

Excellent information!!

💜 Bipolar Disorder is more than mood swings. It’s a real mental health condition—and support matters.

Bipolar disorder can affect mood, energy, activity levels, and daily functioning through periods of emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). This can go misdiagnosed for years so it is critical to give a full discount of symptoms to your provider. While symptoms may feel overwhelming, stability and recovery are possible with the right treatment and support.

Treatment looks different for everyone and may include psychiatric care, medication management, therapy, healthy routines, and supportive services to help individuals thrive. Most importantly—no one has to face it alone. 💜

At Resource Management Services, we provide compassionate, individualized care to patients ages 6 and up, through psychiatric evaluations, medication management, licensed counseling, CPST, and PSR services tailored to each person’s unique needs. Services can stand alone or be combined to support long-term wellness.
