Shift New Orleans is designed for those who are concerned about how a city can transform itself following a crisis or disaster. It is a pilot program for understanding and applying Spiral Dynamics Integral (SDi) in recovery, regeneration, and renewal processes when faced with a catastrophic situation. Clearly, forms of leadership and life are being forged as the Mighty Mississippi shapes the flo
w of people and institutions into the 21st Century. This energy and resolve is being co-created by the hearts and minds of multiple generations, cultures, and diversities all brought together by the currents of profound change. It is designed to initiate a shift FROM the AS IS of New Orleans TO a healthy and obtainable expression of the TO BE city. We see this as a realistic “next stage” in the on-going emergence of a people shaped by tragedy, but uplifted by vision, hope, and courage. This energy and resolve is being co-created by the hearts and minds of multiple generations, cultures, and diversities all brought together by the currents of profound change in New Orleans. The Center for Human Emergence in New Orleans will be the host for the Shift New Orleans Project - to introduce a new narrative, one that shifts the focus into natural, universal, value-systems differences that cut across all of the historic categories. It will be designed to replace the stigmas and stereotypes based on race and ethnicity by applying Spiral Dynamics.
