💜💛 TESTIMONIAL TUESDAY 💛💜
Hi everyone! My name is Marilee, and I have been riding with ALLA for about five years.
ALLA was not the first krewe I rode with. Around 1990, I joined the Krewe of Eve on the Northshore and worked my way up from Sergeant to Lieutenant. After my husband passed away and following all the challenges that came with Katrina in 2005, I left Eve and moved to Baton Rouge for a short time.
When I decided to move back to New Orleans, I wanted to join a krewe again. My daughter, Jamie, and I joined together. It wasn’t what I expected, and when that krewe stopped parading, Jamie, Christina, and I moved to ALLA. It was the best move I ever made.
Three years ago, when Christina was Queen, I was asked to serve as a Lieutenant… and here I am still enjoying every minute of it! I found a group of people like me who enjoy having a great time. The krewe is welcoming to everyone, and its purpose is simple: meet people, be part of the community, and parade.
One of the things I love most about ALLA is that members can participate as much or as little as they like. It’s a great opportunity for my friends who live out of town to enjoy Mardi Gras without feeling obligated to attend every event. The opportunities are there for anyone who wishes to participate.
I have truly enjoyed being part of this wonderful organization. If you’re considering joining ALLA, I encourage you to do it. You will not regret it.
