The main building of this historic site was built in 1798 as the main house to an indigo plantation by physician and diplomat Domingo Fleitas. Coming originally from Tenerife in the Canary Island, Fleitas had his Indigo plantation's 'maison principal' built in the West Indies Creole style with wide galleries and many French doors opening onto flowering patios. This main house has guest rooms, a fu

ll-service kitchen, and dining area, and other structures on the property will serve as guest rooms for artists in residence, event and convening spaces, and offices.
