ricRACK was started by Alison Parker, as an idea to keep the costume culture in New Orleans as rich as it ever was. After seeing less kids at Halloween, and less in a costume, I wanted to find ways to can bring my world of costuming in film/tv/theatre to the communities of New Orleans. I also wanted to incorporate the world of repurposing, re-using, and waste reduction. There's entirely too many c

lothes, fabrics, and materials tossed away that could be re-used. There's over 14 million tons of fabrics dumped into the landfill every year. There's enough fabric manufactured each year to wrap around the earth THREE times...we have to learn to be more creative, and more resourceful...and what better way to start than with sewing and costumes!!
