It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Sergeant James Lukash #8125, who passed away at the hospital following a medical event at home. Sgt. Lukash was a 22-year veteran of the department and was assigned to the Violent Crimes Bureau.

HONORING THE LIFE OF OFFICER DANIELLE MCCLENDON: May you rest in God’s eternal peace. It is with profoundly heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Officer Danielle McClendon.

Danielle was more than an officer and colleague, she was family. The bonds formed in this profession are unlike those of an ordinary job. We spend countless hours together, depend on one another, laugh together, struggle together and, somewhere along the way, coworkers become family. Danielle was our family.

Her loss is felt deeply throughout the South Fulton Police Department. Although our department will not be the same without her, we will hold tightly to the memories she gave us and the impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Please keep Danielle’s family, friends, loved ones and the entire South Fulton Police Department family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this heartbreaking loss.

HONORING THE LIFE OF SERGEANT CHRIS FISHER: May you rest in God’s eternal peace.

Two children lost their dad.

A wife lost her husband.

And a Georgia community lost a man who dedicated his life to serving others.

Sgt. Chris Fisher of the Warm Springs Police Department was killed in the line of duty Tuesday night. Chris was a U.S. Army veteran and a dedicated police officer who had served with several sheriff’s offices across Georgia before joining the Warm Springs Police Department just three months ago.

But Chris was never just a badge or a uniform. He was a husband. A dad. A son. A friend. A fellow officer who cared so much about the people he served. He always talked to kids when he was out on patrol. He took the time to let people know they mattered.

Now his wife and two children are facing the unimaginable task of learning how to live without him. There are no words that can fill that space.

But Chris deserves to be remembered for the life he lived, the people he served and the family who loved him. Please keep his wife, his children, his parents, his loved ones and his law enforcement family close to your heart.

Rest easy, Sgt. Chris Fisher. You will not be forgotten | 🇺🇸⚫️🔵⚫️🇺🇸

NEVER FORGET THE LIFE OF OFFICER DAVID TAYLOR: May you rest in God’s eternal peace. We mourn the loss of Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge Officer David Taylor , who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty yesterday while working to evacuate residents during the devastating wildfires in our area.

Officer Taylor was doing what law enforcement officers do every day, putting the safety and lives of others before his own.

Our hearts are with Officer Taylor’s family, friends, fellow officers, and everyone at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him. We will remember his courage, his service, and his willingness to put himself in harm’s way to protect others. Rest easy, Officer Taylor. We have the watch from here | 🇺🇸⚫️🔵⚫️🇺🇸

HONORING THE LIFE OF CPD OFFICER CHRISTOPHER DELONG: May you rest in God’s eternal peace. We mourn the loss of Columbia Police Department Officer Christopher DeLong, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his community.

Our deepest sympathies are with Officer DeLong’s family, friends, fellow officers, and the entire Columbia Police Department. Officer DeLong chose a life of service, putting the safety and well-being of others before his own.

His courage, dedication, and ultimate sacrifice will forever be remembered. We are also keeping the Columbia officer who was injured in the line of duty in our thoughts and prayers. We pray for strength, healing, and a speedy recovery. Rest in peace, Officer DeLong. We send our strength, support, and deepest condolences to all who are grieving this tremendous loss | 🇺🇸⚫️🔵⚫️🇺🇸
