Students in Mrs. D’Antoni’s class at Meraux Elementary were excited to be named the Winning Class in this month’s Reading Incentive Program, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club!

Mrs. D’Antoni’s class earned the highest number of Accelerated Reader (AR) points for the month and proudly displayed their “Winning Class” sign on their classrooms door after participating in a pizza party. A student reader was randomly drawn to receive a special sign to display in their yard!

Congratulations to Mrs. D’Antoni’s class and all the students at Meraux Elementary for their hard work and dedication to reading!

The Kiwanis Club is excited to support literacy at Arabi Elementary!

Our members are helping kindergarten students take Accelerated Reader tests on stories they’ve read. We’re proud to encourage these young readers as they build their skills, confidence, and love of reading!

Thank you to Arabi Elementary and Ms. Svoboda for welcoming our members into your library!

The Kiwanis Club was proud to participate in Blues, Brews & BBQ to help raise funds to support the Community Center of St. Bernard!

Students enjoyed listening to stories read by Mother Goose and friends, selecting books to take home, making bookmarks for their new books, and having their faces painted.

A special thank you to the Chalmette High School Key Club for helping us make this event a success!
