❤️NOHD and NOARHP jointly received a SIECUS grant to support s*x education programming for youth. This partnership directly responds to rising rates of STIs and HIV among youth in Orleans Parish. Research consistently shows that comprehensive, medically accurate s*x education equips young people with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent these outcomes and promote healthy futures. ❤️

Next Monday, February 9th, NOARHP and will hold a session on s*x education policy and landscape in New Orleans! The meeting will be on Zoom from 4:30-5:30pm. Zoom link will be in our bio.
The sessions will cover topics below and talk through scenarios with students :
📌An overview of Louisiana s*x education laws, including Acts 680 and 681, and how they apply in practice
📌How self-disclosure (by students or educators) intersects with current laws and school policies
📌Best practices for facilitating s*x education discussions within these policy constraints
📌An overview of the New Orleans charter school structure and how governance affects policy implementation
📌Brief local data on youth s*xual and reproductive health outcomes
