Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.- Omicron Lambda Omega Chapter

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.- Omicron Lambda Omega Chapter Omicron Lambda Omega has served New Orleans for 40+ years, empowering communities through leadership, service, and sisterhood.

Committed to excellence, we continue to make a lasting impact through education, advocacy, and civic engagement. The Omicron Lambda Omega Chapter was chartered June 16, 1984. The distinguished women of โ€œOLQโ€, as we affectionately call our chapter in shorthand, span in years of membership from the newly initiated to 50+ years. We hail from different generations, backgrounds and professions

with the common goal of building upon the legacy of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in providing service to the Greater New Orleans community. In addition to the Sorority's Signature Initiative of "Global Leadership Through Timeless Service", we conduct regular program activities including awarding scholarships in memorial of our Soror Leah B. Gordon to one student at each of the three Historically Black Colleges & Universities located in New Orleans, LA. Annually, we present our Pearls of Pride and Promise Cotillion which introduces young ladies, who are either high school seniors or college freshmen, to society as the culminating activity of a seven month program which include workshops, community service projects, cotillion events, rehearsals and scholarship awards.
