The cast, crew, and management of the Shakespeare Festival mourn the untimely loss of our friend, castmate, and colleague- Michael C. Forest.

It is difficult to imagine this world we created without Mike's shining presence. Easy with a smile and a kind word, he approached each day with generosity, joy, and dedication to both the craft and the company. His role in this production was integral, not only in the moments seen onstage, but in the countless moments behind the scenes that bind a cast together and make a theatrical family.
As we continue these performances, we carry him with us, honoring the passion, kindness, and beautiful spirit he brought to this sacred space and the work he so loved. His presence endures in this world we built together and in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know and love him.

Few plays showcase Shakespeare’s mastery of language like King Lear.

From haunting imagery to razor-sharp dialogue, the text itself is a marvel—layered, lyrical, and emotionally devastating. This is Shakespeare at his most daring and profound.

See the words come alive on stage at the New Orleans Shakespeare Festival at Tulane.

Now playing for two more weeks—running through June 7 at the Lupin Theatre on Tulane’s Uptown Campus.
Thursdays–Saturdays at 7:30 PM • Sundays at 1:30 PM matinee.
