From the very first moment I saw him, I recognized that Wakito was a dog we wanted at Big Easy Animal Rescue. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Holly Williams from Trampled Rose Rescue for liberating him from a dire situation, as well as to Abadie vet clinic for caring for him during his initial week of recovery.
Unfortunately, Wakito has endured a lot, and it shows. His fur is sparse, replaced by a crusty, yeast-infected skin due to years of neglect. His ears are nearly shut from infection, and the most concerning issue is the persistent bloody discharge caused by a bladder stone nearly the size of his bladder.
While some of his ailments are treatable, others may not be. Despite the pain he’s enduring, Wakito has the sweetest disposition and an inquisitive nature that shines through. He walks with a slight tilt and his head is always angled, as if he’s constantly seeking answers from those around him.
His medical expenses will be significant, but his spirit remains unbroken. We’re reaching out to ask for your support; even a small donation, perhaps the price of a coffee, would go a long way in aiding his recovery. We promise to keep you updated on his journey. Thank you for your kindness, and please consider sharing this message with your friends and family.
