The Radical Buffoons are a collective of actors, directors, designers, clowns, makers, and dreamers based in New Orleans LA. Founded in 2017 TRB strives making work that is outsize in scope or idea, physically evocative, socially provocative, and couched in humor (defined broadly) as the vehicle for storytelling. This is bolstered by our devotion to cultivating work in, with and for residents of our city and our commitment to radically representation, ensuring all of NOLA’s audiences get to see themselves both on and back stage.
TRB holds a wildly big-tent-philosophy as a core principle. To do this we create work in three distinct programming tracks. MAIN STAGE produces previously scripted plays, pointedly humorous plays for adult audiences; LAB is a home for boundary-pushing experimentation and a place to collaborate across disciplines; YOUNG AUDIENCES presents theatrical experiences for children and their elders with an equally high level of curation and professionalism.
