What a great way to start your morning. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana recently sent out their “2025 Benefit Changes” to all of their insured customers. Guess what was listed as new benefit to all of their policies? Answer: “Urinary Dysfunction and Sexual Dysfunction Treatment resulting from Cancer Diagnosis or Treatment.” See below letter from BCBS for detail.

This new added benefit is a direct result of CAGLA’s 2024 state legislative efforts. Remember that CAGLA led the charge on the passing of HB 508 which mandated this coverage for our cancer patients. CAGLA would like to thank 2 of our CAGLA Scientific Advisory Board Members for leading the charge on this bill: Dr. Matt Mutter and Dr. Sidd Panmadhaba.

CAGLA will continue to fight for all of the cancer patients across our state. Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Chad Landry - President & Executive Director of CAGLA
