Voices Organized in Creative Dissent (VOIC'D)

Voices Organized in Creative Dissent (VOIC'D) This production, with its emphasis on education, will serve as one of many windows into a conversation about home and what home means in New Orleans.

VOIC'D is currently developing LOCKDOWN, a full-length play that explores how popular narratives of meritocracy and the American Dream perpetuate racism and disconnect us from each other. VOIC’D was formed in the fall of 2009 through Junebug Productions' Free Southern Theater Institute course, "From Community to Stage.” Lockdown is based on the original play Voices from the Back of the Class that
