The Rotary Club of Algiers started in 1995. It exists to look for and identify areas that need assistance and can be helped by our members and resources to exemplify the Rotary motto "Service Above Self." Glinda Schafer is the current president for the 2016-18 term.

Woo Hooo! Our very own Doris Steib won the grand prize for the Big Game Raffle organized by the Rotary Club of Metairie! The best part is she was at the drawing to claim her prize of 2 Bunker Club seats for the Saints v. Bucs game, dinner at Ruth’s, a beautiful N.O. Theme silver bracelet from Ramsey’s, and 2 tickets to the LPO. The raffle brought in over $130,000 which will be donated to charities and projects sponsored by Rotary clubs and organizations in our area. Our club sold 62 tickets so we will have some extra funds for our charitable projects! Thank you to everyone who contributed and bought raffle tickets!! Your money will be put to work to make lives better.
