Dear friends & followers,
As I reflect on the past year at Airlift & Music Box Village, I am filled with such gratitude for the hard work and dedication of this team. 2024 has been a year of rebuilding for us, as well as evolution and learning. We are proud to be open, and grateful to serve the people of New Orleans and welcome its visitors.

From a Spring season offering of five performances, we rolled out our first ever Summer Open Hours which built into consistent Thursday-Saturday programming this Fall. We introduced a “Locals Thursday” program to get our neighbors and their families back into the space. We worked with legendary artists like The Headhunters, hometown heroes Quintron & Miss Pussycat, talented up and comers like Byron Asher, and we welcomed creators from seven different countries and several spots in the Caribbean. We also worked with youth from the Living School to fabricate elements of a new musical house to debut next year.

When we capped our Fall season last Saturday with our first art market since October 2023, it felt like we’d really made big strides in our efforts towards sustainability & re-connection with this community.

As we watched folks find expression by jamming in the Village, and families coming together to share in fun, we were reminded that the magic of The Music Box Village is in play and wonder. Wonder which sparks curiosity about our world, and play that helps our brains to build new connections. In fraught times, opportunities for play and wonder feel more important than ever.

We need the help of supporters like you to keep this momentum going. Can you help us to continue this important mission driven work by making a financial contribution today? Your gift will support our one-of-a-kind performance programming, and it will fund teaching artists for hands-on workshops. Best yet, it will allow us to program even more free Locals Thursdays in 2025!

Read on for more benefits associated with your tax-deductible gift. Your generosity means so much to us, and we hope to share in celebration with you this coming year.

With deepest thanks,
Leah Hennessy
Interim Executive Director & Creative Director
