Our Really Big Used Book Sale will have a dedicated African American interest Section featuring books written by Black Authors and those discussing Black stories, history, and culture.

You’ll find some of these titles together in this dedicated area, while others will be waiting to be discovered throughout the sale. In addition, come browse Black artists in our CDs, DVDs, and Vinyls sections.

Find a book for all ages this Saturday on the lawn of Latter Memorial Library and in the Carriage House. Anything from Beginning Reader to YA is available at bargain prices (2 dollars!)

We accept cash, cards, Venmo, and your kid’s “but, I NEED this book.”

ATTENTION, LIBRARY LOVERS!

This Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM–3 PM, our REALLY BIG USED BOOK SALE is taking over the lawn of Latter Memorial Library!

But the fun doesn’t stop at the lawn! The Carriage House Book Store will also be open that day, where you can browse items you won’t find under a tent. This includes CDs, DVDs, and vinyl! Plus, you can find even more books inside.

Can’t make this Saturday’s sale? No worries! The Carriage House Book Store is our brick-and-mortar location and is open every Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Wednesday & Thursday: 10 AM–2 PM
Saturday: 10 AM–5 PM

Make a day of it at Latter Memorial Library! Stop by the sale to stock up on great reads, then head to the Carriage House Book Store to discover even more books, music, and movie treasures. This past Saturday, Artist in Residence Lionel Milton (Lionel Milton) hosted a Ruby Bridges Art Workshop at the Main Library Branch!

Participants learned about Ruby Bridges’ history and legacy while exploring their own creativity through paint markers, colored-pencils, and crayons. Families also received library book recommendations to help continue the conversation and learning at home.

Events like this bring together history, art, and literacy. They’re made possible by YOUR support! Proceeds from Foundation book sales help fund programs that educate and inspire New Orleans children in both the arts and beyond. Our next Big Book Sale is THIS MONTH October 24th @ Latter Memorial Library. We hope to see you there!
