We heard y’all… Our previous Big Book Sales performed so well that we are expanding it to TWO DAYS! Come indoors to the New Orleans East Regional Library July 10th (12 PM - 5 PM) & July 11th (10 AM - 3 PM) to browse used books and support your New Orleans Public Libraries.

For many years, two separate nonprofits have supported the library: Friends of New Orleans Public Library and the New Orleans Public Library Foundation.

Today, we announced our formal merger into one unified organization: the Library Foundation of New Orleans.

The result is a stronger, more efficient partner for our library system.

We have a new name, but our mission stays the same : To ensure that New Orleans has an exceptional library system that meets the diverse needs of the community it serves.

We greatly appreciate the work of the
and its Strategic Restructuring and Mergers Fund for their support.

Here's a taste of some of the books we have waiting for you at our used book sale on Saturday, April 18! But this is JUST a taste - we have children's books, crafts and DiY, cookbooks, local books, and more!

We'd rather be reading, but this year, we ran (and walked!) 🏃‍♂️📖

Friends of the New Orleans Public Library showed up for the Crescent City Classic and raised $20,138.56, exceeding our $15,000 goal, all in support of public library programs across New Orleans.

It was an incredible day filled with community, energy, and purpose...and we are already looking ahead.

📆 Crescent City Classic 2027 is March 27th. We would love for you to run for the Friends and support the New Orleans Public Library.
