Here Comes the Sun! Our annual Pledge Drive will be ending soon. A thousand thanks to all who have sent in a pledge! As of October 22, we have received pledges totaling $125,000! We need just $20,000 to reach our goal of $145,000. Your support will help us pay for our minister, our staff, our building, our community engagement, and our programs during the next year. If you have not gotten around to submitting your 2027 pledge, or if you would like to increase the pledge you already sent in, click the link.

Our religious tradition did not arrive here easily. Across the centuries, people questioned accepted truths, challenged religious authority, crossed boundaries, opened doors and sometimes paid dearly for doing so. Michael Servetus died for theological convictions. Thomas Potter prepared a chapel for a Universalist preacher he had not yet met. Olympia Brown carried her Universalist faith into the struggle for women's equality. Sophia Lyon Fahs dared religious education to take children's questions seriously. And they are only a few.

This Sunday we will meet some of the courageous Unitarians, Universalists and Unitarian Universalists whose choices helped create the faith we have inherited. Not saints. Not superheroes. Human beings who were afraid, uncertain and imperfect—and nevertheless stepped forward. Their lives remind us: others have walked this road before us. We do not walk alone. Join us this Sunday at 11am!

UU Religious Education (Adult & Older Teens)

Our UU study group is completing our present study and have decided to read next: "The Stranger's Church of New Orleans." Brad Ott has copies for $10. It was written by a member of First Church UU, New Orleans and is the history of Unitarianism in New Orleans since before the Civil War and much of southern unitarianism.

Don't let the cost turn you away as we can be creative about that. We read and discuss. No tests! First meeting today, Saturday October 17 at 2pm!

Let Rev. Jacqueline know if you plan to attend: [email protected]
