Over 45 residents gathered on Sunday for a fun and delicious neighborhood crawfish boil! We met at the Faubourg Delassize Community Garden (6th and Dryades) and feasted on crawfish and healthy vegetable sandwiches cooked up by local residents. The sandwiches featured peppers, eggplants, and tomatoes straight from the garden!

Thanks to everyone that came out!

Special shout out to resident Haiyan Khan for grilling vegetables, and Rob and Erin with their local business, Joie De Vie at nola, for boiling crawfish! If you haven't checked out Joie De Vie, like them on Facebook and visit their food stand Fridays and Saturdays at the Market on LaSalle!

This message from Scott Webster:
So a mushroom goes up to the veggie garden bed and knocks on the door. Carrot opens the door and says “Sorry mushroom, we’re full up, go elsewhere”, to which the mushroom replied, “Come ‘on guys let me in, I’m a fungi!”

If we win the Seeds of Change of grant then mushrooms can live in harmony with carrots, peppers, eggplants, and all other vegetables we plant in our new and improved container beds!!! DON’T LEAVE THE FUNGI OUT OF THE PARTY! VOTE!!

Please vote for the Faubourg Delassize Community Garden!!!
