This group of young boys and now, one girl, are the phenomenal youth boxing team in New Orleans. They are "A" and "B" students with determinations to do well and succeed. And they are also Champions in the Boxing Ring! This is a vehicle that works in teaching our children discipline, respect for self and others and allow them to strive toward goals of achievement. This team is so awesome that othe
r teams fear them in the ring and would rather forfeit the match than to Box them. The team are individual champions as well, holding various Belts, Ribbons and Trophies within their weight and class divisions. The youngest on the team, 10 yrs old, goes by the name "King Tut". "Tut" is ranked #1 in the World and the reigning AAU Olympic Champion. Both of his parents are deceased and he has been literally adopted by other boxing parents and the coaches and he excels in spite of this challenge. Our team is the ONLY youth boxing team that does not have a "Home" due to cuts in the NORDC. Other teams from Kenner, St. Bernard and other out of town areas have great support from their police, sheriffs, fire departments, elected officials and municipalities. They have gymnasiums with boxing rings for them to practice, spar and hold matches, in addition to, uniforms and equipment; OUR TEAM DOES NOT, which is a shame because we are an awesome, fearless and talented team and deserve your support.
