From a NEASO Member…..
My name is Lisa and I am a proud member of the National Education Association Staff Organization (NEASO). I am reaching out to extend my gratitude for all that you’ve done to urge NEA management to end the lockout of NEASO staff without conditions and bargain a fair contract. Your solidarity fuels our efforts to get back to work serving members across the country.
My job as a speechwriter involves creating keynotes, short remarks, video scripts, book forwards, letters, you-name-it and it's probably a written product that I have created for NEA. My work helps to showcase the dedication and expertise of public school educators, and helps to inspire, educate and motivate NEA's 3 million members. Unfortunately, due to NEA management’s lockout, this critical work is not being done. With almost 300 NEASO members locked out for 20 days, NEA members lost out on the benefit of well over 41,000 hours of dedicated work. This must end.
NEASO members have been walking the picket line every day during the week to tell NEA to live up to its union values, and we aren’t giving up! As we prepare to enter Week 5 of NEA management’s lockout, we need your help. Here are three actions to take and share with a friend to show your solidarity with NEASO:
SHARE OUR PLEDGE: We believe that solidarity is a verb! We hope you do, too. Ask a friend to stand with NEASO as we demand NEA uphold union values.
WRITE: Email NEA President Becky Pringle and Executive Director Kim Anderson to urge them to do right by NEASO staff by ending the lockout without conditions and by negotiating a fair contract.
DONATE: Support NEASO in our fight to secure a fair contract.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we hope that you will help us TURN UP THE VOLUME on NEASO’s efforts to secure a fair contract. Follow NEASO on social media, like our posts, and amplify our message. NEASO regularly releases updates, information, and news regarding our fight for union values and a workplace and contract that respects the dignity of our work. Check out our social media channels for regular updates and stories from the line!
