Henry Harold Clay, Sr. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 28, 2026. He was a native of Kenner, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Henry was a graduate of the Jefferson Parish Public School System. He retired from Cytec Industries (formerly American Cyanamid) in 1998, after 32 years of employment as a Compressor Operator.
Henry always exhibited a strong passion for gospel singing. He sung with various church choirs and gospel groups throughout the Kenner and New Orleans areas. He was a pianist at St. Joseph Congregational Baptist Church for over 35 years. His favorite pastimes included traveling, fishing, sh*****ng, cooking and gardening.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Barbara Brown Clay, his children, Henry Clay, Jr., Anthony Clay (Samantha) and Lori Clay; his siblings, Alma Dorethea Williams, Edgar Clay (Dorothy), Allen Clay, Ophelia Johnson, Mary Young (Percy), Donald Clay (Yvonne), Patricia Davis (Louis), Betty Hood, James Clay (Anna), Jeanetter Vaughn, Debra Miller and Nathaniel Clay; six grandchildren, Shakeeta Ursin, Henry Robinson, Sr. (Kyle), LaZandra Broussard (CJ), Erron Robinson (Janayl), Dimonique Robinson, and Joshua Clay; 18 great grandchildren; three godchildren, Lyonetta Flowers, Danielle Rapp, Kenon Leforte; dedicated cousins, Louis and Gloria Stewart; two sisters-in-law, Pamela Rankins and Judy Lea; three brothers-in-law, James, Aaron and Nathaniel Brown; and a host of nieces,...
