Henry Harold Clay, Sr. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 28, 2026. He was a native of Kenner, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Henry was a graduate of the Jefferson Parish Public School System. He retired from Cytec Industries (formerly American Cyanamid) in 1998, after 32 years of employment as a Compressor Operator.
Henry always exhibited a strong passion for gospel singing. He sung with various church choirs and gospel groups throughout the Kenner and New Orleans areas. He was a pianist at St. Joseph Congregational Baptist Church for over 35 years. His favorite pastimes included traveling, fishing, sh*****ng, cooking and gardening.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Barbara Brown Clay, his children, Henry Clay, Jr., Anthony Clay (Samantha) and Lori Clay; his siblings, Alma Dorethea Williams, Edgar Clay (Dorothy), Allen Clay, Ophelia Johnson, Mary Young (Percy), Donald Clay (Yvonne), Patricia Davis (Louis), Betty Hood, James Clay (Anna), Jeanetter Vaughn, Debra Miller and Nathaniel Clay; six grandchildren, Shakeeta Ursin, Henry Robinson, Sr. (Kyle), LaZandra Broussard (CJ), Erron Robinson (Janayl), Dimonique Robinson, and Joshua Clay; 18 great grandchildren; three godchildren, Lyonetta Flowers, Danielle Rapp, Kenon Leforte; dedicated cousins, Louis and Gloria Stewart; two sisters-in-law, Pamela Rankins and Judy Lea; three brothers-in-law, James, Aaron and Nathaniel Brown; and a host of nieces,...

Audrey Heno Fauria departed this life on August 25, 2026, at the age of 97. Born February 21, 1929, in New Orleans, Audrey lived a life rooted in faith, family, service, and joy. A devout Catholic, devoted mother and grandmother, she will be remembered for her generous spirit, independence, love of family, and lifelong care for others.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney J. Fauria; parents, James and Lucille Mermillod Heno; and siblings, Frank Heno, James Heno, Raymond Heno, Althea H. Jacques, Shirley H. Roux, Celestine H. Ozine, Lovina H. Demazeliere, Dorothy H. Lebrane, and Helen LaBeaud.
She is survived by her children, Elena (Clement) Charbonnet and Sidney (Vaughn) Fauria; grandchildren, Clement (Lashaye) Charbonnet, Shane (Cedrina) Charbonnet, Andre (Jennifer) Charbonnet, Danielle (Andy) Horn, Sidney (Kristen) Charbonnet, Christian (Victor) Fauria-Robinson, and Gretchen (Edgar) Chase; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and caregivers.

Hazel Mary Ralph (nee Christophe) departed this earthly life on August 27, 2026 at the age of 101. Born on April 27, 1925 to Mary Oliver and Anotole Christophe, Hazel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, Nannan, and friend to many. At the tender age of 16, she married the love of her life, August, with whom she raised three children: Rhett, Sr. (Patricia), Audrella (also known as Audry) and Nona (Gregory). Four grandchildren, Marla, Adam, Rhett, Jr., and Brandon were her pride and joy. She was cherished by 4 great-grandchildren, Miles, Maia, Amanda, and Alexandria Stewart. Hazel was predeceased by her husband, her siblings—Delores, Carmel, Anatole, Jr., Theresa, Angelina and John, and sisters-in-law Maguerite, Evelyn, Odette and Marion. Psalm 23 was Dr. Marion Ann Stewart's favorite scripture, and it actually reflects the life she lived.

Please note, to nearly everyone who knew and loved her, she was simply Anna. Very few called her Marion, and because this remembrance belongs to the people who loved her, we will call her what they always did.

As the scripture references, Anna knew something about walking through valleys. She knew hardship, sacrifice and uncertainty. She was one-of-one and one of the strongest persons to walk this earth. No matter the valley, she kept walking, always figured out a way to make a way where there appeared to be none, and somehow, through it all, she knew how to keep her cup overflowing with laughter, generosity, faith and love.

Anna was brilliant and curious, fiercely protective and deeply affectionate, strong yet extraordinarily tender. She was also wonderfully goofy. She possessed an infectious laugh and often began laughing at her own jokes before she ever reached the punchline. Perhaps most remarkable was that despite everything she endured, life never managed to take her joy away.

Anna became a mother at 17. There were people who doubted whether she would finish high school, college, graduate school, or successfully raise her children. She answered those doubts with her life. Charlie Mills departed this earthly life on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at the age of 88, surrounded by family. He was born in Woodville, Mississippi on June 8, 1938, to the parents of Mary Mills and Wesley Sims.

For sixty-five plus years, he lived in New Orleans where he made it his home, creating a family and career. He retired from A & P Tea Company as a truck driver and later begin carpentry work and even started a plumbing business. As a “jack of all trades,” he always helped any and everybody he could.

He is survived by six daughters; Virginia Pellerin, Yolonda Nelson, Desiree Simmons, Courtney “Nikki” Arvie, Dr. Breanne McGhee, and Shannon Young, one son; Sean Dunn, four sisters; Mary Dunn, Barbara Smith, Frances Wright, Dr. Marilyn Reynaud, five brothers; Harry Mills, Donald, Ernest, Larry and Alvin Sims, 2 sons-in-law; 1 daughter-in-law, 3 brothers-in-laws, 3 sisters-in-law; seventeen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, a devoted companion Lois Fischer, and a numerous number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by one son; Kenneth Wells, parents; Mary Mills and Wesley Sims, stepmother; Louise Sims, two brothers; Thomas Carter and CL Sims, granddaughter Keneisha Wells and a very very close cousin Walter “Smiley” Bibbins.

Lewis, Glenda, departed this life on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at the age of 69. Beloved daughter of the late Earl L. Lewis and Marcella Harding Lewis; Mother of Marcella Hawkins-Albert (Torey), and the late Tillman and Kimyetta Hawkins; Grandmother of Marcella T. and Torey D. LOIS MATHIEU REIMONENQ, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026. She was born to her loving parents, the late Clarence Mathieu Sr. and Alice Soublet Mathieu. To their union, eight children were born, and she was the youngest. She was preceded in death by six siblings: Clarence Mathieu Jr., Gilbert Mathieu Sr., Delores Pavageau, Leon Mathieu Sr., Helena Weber, and Alvarez Mathieu. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Smith. She was the loving mother of Michael Reimonenq Jr. (Lynne), Dana Reimonenq Gumas (the late William Gumas), and Kecia Marquez (Justin); grandmother of 10 grandchildren, including the late Mica and Zachary; and great-grandmother of five. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, as well as many beloved sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Lois worked at St. Anna’s Nursing Home for 21 years. She was a parishioner of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, where she also attended the senior center.
Relatives and friends of the family, as well as the staff of Lafon and St. Anna’s Nursing Homes, are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Philip St., New Orleans, LA 70116, on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
