Connect individuals to medical care and essential health resources
Advocate for individuals and policies that improve health equity
Train the next generation of doctors and health providers to better care for people impacted by incarceration
With your support, the FIT Clinic Program can continue to provide critical services to individuals transitioning back into the community.

$50 provides basic medications for someone just coming home
$500 purchases monthly bus passes for 10 individuals
$5,000 supports community health workers with lived experience of incarceration in training community health providers

Today, we pause to remember August 29, 2005, a day that forever changed New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina was not just a natural disaster, but a human tragedy that exposed deep inequities, displaced families, and reshaped our community in unimaginable ways.

At the FIT Clinic, we honor the resilience of the people who survived, rebuilt, and continue to fight for a healthier, stronger, and more just New Orleans. We remember the lives lost, the families who endured unimaginable loss, and the countless neighbors who turned pain into purpose.

Our mission is rooted in this legacy to address systemic barriers, to uplift those most impacted by injustice, and to ensure that every person, especially the most vulnerable, has access to health, healing, and hope.

As we mark 20 years since Katrina, we commit to carrying forward the lessons learned: the power of community, the need for equity, and the unwavering spirit of New Orleans.
