Woof woof! 🐾🎃 Hey there, fellow furballs! It's almost Halloween, the spookiest time of the year! 👻 But remember, even though we're all about the fun, safety is paw-sitively important.

If you're planning on taking your furry friends out trick-or-treating, don't forget the reflective gear! 🦺✨ With so many people out driving unfamiliar roads, it can be difficult to see us in the dark. So, let's stay safe and have a howling good time!

Woof woof! Louie here, with a spooky PSA for all my furry friends! 🎃👻

Check out my Big Sis Sparky in her elephant costume... kinda. 😅 While it's adorable, it's not the best fit. That trunk is totally blocking her vision! We want to make sure our costumes are fun AND safe this Halloween.

Here's the scoop on what to AVOID:

Vision blockers: Costumes that cover our eyes make it hard to see where we're going, which can be spooky for all the wrong reasons! 🙈

Too tight: Costumes that are too snug can make it hard to breathe and move around comfortably.

Too loose: Baggy costumes can be a tripping hazard, and we don't want any boo-boos! 🤕

Dangly bits: Avoid costumes with small parts or things that dangle - we might try to eat them!

Let's have a happy and safe Howl-o-ween! 🧡🖤

My big sis Sparky here is a total rockstar in her ladybug outfit, but it took some time to get her used to it. Just like breaking in a new pair of shoes, it's all about gradual exposure. Start with short sessions, let them sniff and explore the costume, and reward them for being calm. And hey, if they're not feeling it, that's okay too! There are plenty of other ways to celebrate Halloween together. 🎃🐾"

Four weeks ago we launched Wandering Rover, our doggie day out program. We are so grateful to the community who has embraced our program and helped so many dogs already!

Since our July 17th launch, we've facilitated more than 110 day-trip adventures for our shelter dogs, some going out multiple times a week.

We've already seen an improvement in our dogs' stress and anxiety in the shelter and we are learning so much about them that we wouldn't otherwise learn. This helps us to improve our pet profiles, increase their chances of a quick adoption along with all the benefits of a day outside their kennel! We are so grateful to the numerous community members who have embraced our program and chosen to spend a day with a shelter dog.

Our dogs have been to parks, beaches, on hikes, to breweries, coffee shops and restaurants, on ferries and so much more!
