Youth With A Mission (YWAM) New Orleans is a non-profit organization and a satellite ministry location of YWAM Tyler, TX. We were established in 1982 by a group of young missionaries who came to do Mardi Gras Outreach and never left! God loves people and over 60% of the world’s population lives in cities like New Orleans. With a metro population of 1.2 million and over 9 million tourists coming th

rough each year, we believe New Orleans is a “port” being used by God to take in the lost, lead them to Jesus, and then send them out to infect the world with Christ’s love. For years we’ve labored with excitement within our city in obedience to Jesus Christ’s command in Matthew 28 known as the Great Commission. We believe in community transformation by the gospel. Some of our ministry efforts include: Open air worship and evangelism, benevolence to the poor and needy, tutoring children and teaching them the bible, offering counseling and free pregnancy services to young pregnant woman, hosting short-term mission teams year-round, and much more! Here at YWAM New Orleans, we don’t offer regular seasons of training schools (recommended school UrbanDTS.com) but rather a platform for which YWAM missionaries can live out what they’ve been trained to do; Know God and Make Him known.

No matter what kind of labels Louisiana has had in the past, we believe God is calling this state a bright light. We believe everyone living there has been designed by God with a specific purpose for their life!

We are excited to speak life over the city of New Orleans using all of our different expressions!

This is Ken, a Veteran and Pastor, located down in Jean Lafitte, Louisiana. His home has been destroyed along with so many things we take for granted every day. Folks, the hurricane has taken so much from this amazing community. We’ve been blessed to watch God move in this town and are privileged to be a small part of bringing hope through rebuilding this area. The reality is that this town is months, maybe more, away from being ok. They need help. If you’re interested in sending a team down, let us know, we’ve got pastors and missionaries ready to connect with you, house you and use your service. No skills required, just a heart ready to serve and willingness to learn.
